Usage
The same as Researcher, but can store Engravings[1] and take enchantments from enchanted or engraved gear. Additionally, items can be stacked to 256 in Spatial Storage. The max level of enchantment stored can be 2 levels higher than enchantments cap
- i.e. Sharpness 7 compared to Vanilla Sharpness 5 (Will need a book or item with said enchantment to store at that level)
Engravings can never be raised above their own maximum level, no matter how many bonus levels the skill grants. Curse and Blessing engravings can neither be learned nor applied by the skill: they are on its blacklist and can only be obtained or removed through the means described below.
Curse Engravings
Curse Engravings are hostile engravings that attach themselves to gear on their own. They cannot be chosen, and Godly Craftsman can neither apply nor remove them.
Obtaining
There are two ways an item can be cursed:
- While engraving with the skill. Each time an item leaves the skill's enchanting menu having actually cost experience, there is a 3% chance per engraving already on the item of a random Curse being added. An item carrying five engravings therefore has a 15% chance of picking up a Curse on every further edit. Curses gained this way always arrive at level I.
- While the gear gains EP. Gear that gains EP from kills receives a random engraving upon crossing the Unique (50,000 EP), Legend (250,000 EP) and God (1,000,000 EP) thresholds. Every one of those rolls carries a flat 3% chance of also granting a Curse. The Curse arrives at the same base level as the engraving that triggered it: level I for a Common or Uncommon roll, level II for a Rare roll and level III for an Epic roll, capped by the Curse's own maximum level.
Items in the tensura:no_curse tag can never be cursed. That tag currently points at #tensura:holy_armaments_items, so Holy Armaments gear is permanently immune.
List of Curses
| Curse | Max level | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Curse of Enervation | III | Drains the wielder's saturation every second (−5 per level from armour, −2 per level from a held item) and applies 4 exhaustion, also affecting non-undead entities within 5 blocks. In exchange, each armour piece reduces incoming physical and Tensura magic damage by a flat 10 per level. Undead wielders are unaffected by the drain. |
| Curse of Lethargy | I | −20% Aura Gain and −20% Magicule Gain for the wielder, and the item itself gains 20% less EP from kills. |
| Curse of Sealing | I | Locks the item completely. It cannot be placed in a Grindstone, in the Researcher or Godly Craftsman enchanting slot, or in the Degenerate decraft slot, its enchantments cannot be copied by Godly Craftsman, and it is incompatible with every other enchantment. |
| Curse of Stagnation | I | The item stops evolving. It still accumulates EP up to its cap, but never transforms into its next form. |
| Curse of Ruination | I | The item no longer restores durability from its stored EP, and Mending repairs it for zero durability while still consuming the experience. |
Removal
Curses cannot be removed with a Grindstone, with Degenerate or with Godly Craftsman. The only cure is Reverser, which converts each Curse into its opposing Blessing at the same level, for a Magicule cost per Curse:
| Curse | Becomes | Blessing effect |
|---|---|---|
| Curse of Enervation | Blessing of Vitality | Restores saturation every second (+5 per level from armour, +2 per level from a held item) to the wielder and to non-undead entities within 5 blocks, and keeps the same flat 10 damage reduction per level per armour piece. |
| Curse of Lethargy | Blessing of Vigor | +20% Aura Gain and +20% Magicule Gain, and +20% EP gain for the item. |
| Curse of Sealing | Blessing of Transcendence | The item can gain further random engravings past God tier, one additional engraving for every 500,000 EP beyond 1,000,000. |
| Curse of Stagnation | Blessing of Growth | The item gains double EP from kills. |
| Curse of Ruination | Blessing of Restoration | Doubles the durability restored from the item's stored EP and from Mending. |
Blessings are on the blacklists of both Researcher and Godly Craftsman as well, so reversing a Curse is the only way to obtain one.
Configuration
The chance and the pool of Curses are configurable in tensura/enchantment_config through curseChance (default 3.0) and curseEngraving. The per-engraving chance used by the skill's own menu is set separately in tensura/unique_skill_config under GodlyCraftsman.curseChance (default 0.03).
Footnotes
- ↑ This excludes Exclusive Engravings
When requirements to obtain are met Godly Craftsman becomes learnable at 99% learn points, rather than automatically being learnt.
